Hudson Valley House

Farmhouse Renovation

Built in 1815, this modest country house represents all that is essential in a historic renovation–original flooring, historic details, and general restraint. We fine-tuned this 1,800-square-foot country house by balancing traditional charm with contemporary updates.

The diminutive scale of the rooms inspired us to restrict our paint palette to soft whites and warm grays accompanied by deep olive greens throughout the main level. While the colors read differently in each room depending on its orientation to the sun, the decorative device creates a harmonious flow from room to room. Our scope of work also included sourcing light fixtures and window treatments, along with decorative elements to complement the clients’ collection of art and furnishings.
