The client’s lakefront property, while a new construction, was meticulously designed to conjure the great Shingle Style architecture made famous by firms such as McKim, Mead and White. Our approach with the interiors was wholly inspired by the property’s lush and mossy color palette found in its lakefront setting. Knowing the client had teenage kids and a love of entertaining, we furnished rooms to accommodate large groups and also carved out spaces for more intimate gatherings. Vibrant colors commingle with natural white oak flooring and superbly detailed architectural moldings and cabinetry. An avid traveler, our client had an extensive collection of art and textiles, which we used as a final layer of decorative furnishings to create a home that was an expression of her unique life.
