House on Wononscopomuc

A couple with two young children were interested in creating a modern farmhouse interior that combines their love for mid-century furnishings with one-of-a-kind antiques for a relaxed and eclectic family home. By pairing the warm white walls and trim of the main level with black window sashes, we created a neutral backdrop for a rich medley of antique Persian rugs and Kilims. We then pulled out the earthy reds and blues by reupholstering key pieces in soft mohair, velvets and rough linens. Darker paint colors in the house were reserved for the kitchen and den to delineate the activities in those rooms from the airy openness of the remaining rooms.
