When Eva Chen walked us through this diamond in the rough we were quick to realize it took her vision to see the potential of this Connecticut cottage. The house had been occupied by the same couple for nearly forty years and showed signs of deferred maintenance along with some not-so-successful alterations to the kitchen and living room.
With eye on the budget and an appreciation for their desire to spend time at their new country house, our design teams worked in parallel to simultaneously develop both the architecture and interior design. Construction began within weeks, with Heide’s interiors team driving the schedule for the move-in date.
This was a special opportunity for us to bring in some of our favorite vendors, while also having plenty of room for a few new friends. It was the spirit of collaboration that really made this project sing!
“Heide and Rafe really understood how to unlock the potential of the house, to make it warm and elegant and not too precious.” –Eva Chen
