Interior Design Assistant
Working with and under the direction of Designers and Principals, candidates should have at least two years professional experience and exhibit an innate sense of style and taste and an understanding of the Principals of Interior Design. The role requires knowledge of photoshopping and graphic design software with motivation to learn AUTO CAD and Sketch UP, in order to advance within the firm. As a full-time salaried position, this role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week and occasionally extends into evenings and weekends.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop Design Briefs with Principals for new projects
- Develop with design team Specifications Schedules for projects and contractors
- Prepare work orders for custom furnishings
- Develop Furnishings Budgets in Smartsheet with Designers
- Recording site measurements and existing conditions with design team
- Inventorying client’s furniture with photographs and accurate dimensions
- Requesting samples and swatches and tending to the maintenance of Samples Library
- Assisting with interiors installations as needed
- Interfacing with vendors to keep projects on schedule and on budget, including local errands as needed
- Filing and tracking all incoming documentation from vendors and consultants
- Producing meeting agendas and minutes
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with AutoCad and SketchUp
- Location near Sharon, CT, and flexibility to travel to job sites
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Innate sense of style and taste
- Proactive and can self-manage
- Interest in contributing to office culture
- Current driver’s license
